Golden raisins are produced by harvesting green seedless grapes and mechanically drying them in the presence of sulfur dioxide for color retention. These golden raisins undergo various mechanical stem and foreign material removal processing, water-washing and rinsing, optical sorting, and additional visual inspection.

Golden Thompson raisins are large in size, sweet in flavor, and tender in texture. Golden Thompson raisins are treated with sulfur dioxide and dried in a tunnel to obtain their golden color.

Thompson seedless grapes, botanically known as Vitis vinifera is the primary cultivar planted for white table grapes and raisins in California. Thomson seedless grape was first brought to California in 1878 and named after William Thompson of Marysville, California. Thompson seedless grapes are also known as Sultanina in Asia Minor, Oval Kishmish, Ak-Kishmish, Sultana and Chekirdeksiz.
